Between 18 and 22 April 2016 Jorge Cabrera (Head of the Robotics & Sensorics Unit), Antonio J. González (Head of the Navigation & Data Management Unit) and Leonhard Adler (Glider Pilot) attended the glider pilot course given by the Teledyne Webb Research company in the facilities of the Balearic Islands Coastal Observing and Forecasting System (SOCIB) in Majorca.

The course enabled participants to obtain their first official certification as pilots of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) of the SLOCUM G2 glider type.
